A Multi-Innovation Effort to Instill More Connectivity and Automation in Agriculture

Kubota North America has officially announced an assortment of solutions at the CES 2025, solutions that are intentioned to generate more connectivity and automation throughout its portfolio.

According to certain reports, the stated assortment is understood to be focused on bringing diverse powertrain options, seamless access to data and analytics, improved connectivity, and advanced automation. More on the same would reveal how the development in question delivers greater choice for Kubota customers across its residential, specialty agriculture, and construction segments. This they do to provide the right product, with the right technological capabilities, for every customer.

Taking a deeper view of the products that will be included in the company’s showcase, they begin from Agri Concept 2.0, which happens to be an electric tractor concept capable of offering data, AI, automation and electrification as a powertrain facility to drive automatically.

Next up, there is going to be a Smart Autonomous Sprayer. This one would be a chemical sprayer, which can meticulously scout, and therefore, identify pests and spray with precision, all for the purpose of cutting down on spray drift and overuse. The overarching objective behind introducing such a concept is, of course, to reduce manual labor and the need of chemicals in the field.

Then, there is a product in the form of Flash, which collects for you ultra-detailed images to detect plant-level health. When coupled with AI, Flash also provides recommendations on a grower dashboard to help make crop decisions one plant at a time. Joining that would be KATR, which is essentially a four-wheeled all terrain, multifunctional robot. KATR can maintain a level cargo deck even when working on uneven terrain. Furthermore, it is well-equipped to work autonomously or remotely, and therefore, tackle a range of versatile applications in agriculture, as well as construction environments.

In case that wasn’t enough, then we must mention that the stated robotics technology has already won the Best of Innovation winner in CES Innovation Awards® 2025 program, and it did so in the category of Industrial Equipment and Machinery product.

Moving on to a Smart Robotic Pruner, it arrives on the scene with the ability to make advanced image capture possible. Now, when you put that next to AI and machine learning that classifies buds and canes based on position and fruiting potential, such a setup can significantly optimize production precision and accuracy.

Another detail worth a mention here is rooted in the presence of a Smart Plant Imager. The stated Plant Imager basically leverages advanced robotics and hyperspectral imaging cameras to capture real-time data and insights.

Hold on, we still have a few bits left to unpack, considering we haven’t yet touched upon the Kubota KX038-4e electric excavator, which would be a zero-emission, quiet electric excavator that effectively addresses ventilation, noise, and carbon emissions problem. By doing that, it allows for users to work at night, in residential areas, or even indoors.

We also haven’t touched on Kubota’s Hydrogen Engine Genset that matches the portable power diesel models. However, one key difference here is that Kubota’s Engine Genset does that in a quiet and clean fashion. All in all, this product offers you a power source choice without sacrificing performance.

Rounding up highlights would be a Smart Autonomous Zero-Turn Mower, a cutting-edge piece of equipment which facilitates multiple machines working together to complete large tasks, thus making it possible to do more with smaller machines.
