Launching the Smartest Collection of Precision Agriculture Solutions the Industry has Ever Seen

AGCO Corporation, a global leader in agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, has officially unveiled some of the most innovative precision agriculture solutions that the industry has ever seen.

According to certain reports, this assortment of solutions arrives on the scene bearing a facility to retrofit on users’ existing mixed-fleet equipment, as well as factory fit for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or avail installation on equipment from AGCO’s leading brands Fendt®, Massey Ferguson® and Valtra®.

“We offer solutions for all farmers regardless of the brand they have beyond the farm gate,” said Eric Hansotia, Chairman, President, and CEO at AGCO Corporation.  “This Farmer-First mindset and vision to be the trusted partner for industry-leading, smart farming solutions is why I’m confident AGCO will achieve our goal of $2 billion in precision ag sales by 2029.”

Talk about the given solutions on a slightly deeper level, we begin from PTx FarmENGAGE, which happens to industry’s only digital platform that can manage farmers’ entire operations of multiple brands of equipment.

Next up, we have support for autonomous tillage and fertilizer coming into play. Here, PTx Trimble’s Outrun autonomous technology, already in production for grain handling during harvest, can tread up a long distance to facilitate fertilization and tillage applications on two Fendt 900 Vario tractors. Complementing the same would be the availability of retrofit kits that enable farmers to boost efficiency and address labor shortages.

The technology significantly bolsters AGCO’s goal to deliver autonomous solutions for the entire crop cycle by 2030.

Another detail worth a mention relates to the prospect of harvesting. This translates to how the company will deploy IDEALharvest, HarvestPlus, TI Headland Turn Assist, IDEALdrive and Task Doc Pro, leveraging innovative sensors and intelligent AI control algorithms to simplify harvesting operations.

Hold on, we still have a couple of bits left to unpack, considering we haven’t yet touched upon AGCO’s take on weed control, a take which is inclusive of Precision Planting’s SymphonyVision. For better understanding, SymphonyVision is an AI-based targeted spraying system capable of reducing chemical usage up to 70%.

The company will also deploy an AI-guided system for mechanical weeding so to improve a farmer’s precision application, while simultaneously minimizing crop damage.

Rounding up highlights would be an aspect committed to automated planting. To achieve that, the company will bank upon 20|20 SeedSense, vSet, vDrive, SpeedTube, WaveVision and DeltaForce to address common issues associated with planting. These technologies, on their part, are expected to enable immediate detection and correction of planting issues, improve seed placement, reduce operator intervention, and ensure consistent seed depth across variable field conditions.

“Farmers are asking for technology that fits the way they operate today and scales with them for tomorrow,” said Hansotia. “This is our sixth annual Tech Day, and each one has taken technology to the next level. We are demonstrating how high-performance equipment is paired with retrofit or factory-fit precision ag tech solutions that integrate across an array of brands and vintages to deliver better outcomes for farmers. The ability to service mixed fleets greatly expands our total addressable market, allowing us to reach more farmers and provide solutions that cater to their diverse needs.”
