Frontier Co-op, a leading culinary herbs, spices and baking flavors brand, has officially announced the launch of first ever nationally distributed Regenerative Organic Certified® bottled spices to support smallholder farmers and give consumers culinary options that make a positive impact at every level: environmental, ethical and social. According to certain reports, the stated line of products will be available in select stores starting from October 2024, with suggested retail prices ranging between $6.49 and$9.69. As for what exactly they are going to bring forth, the assortment begins with a Regenerative Organic Certified® Ceylon Cinnamon, which will be further joined by Regenerative Organic Certified® Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks. Next up, we can expect to see Regenerative Organic Certified® Ground Turmeric. Alongside that, customers can also avail Regenerative Organic Certified® Ground Ginger, as well as Regenerative Organic Certified® Medium Grind Black Pepper. More on the given product line would reveal how it will employ regenerative organic agricultural practices to build healthier soils, emphasize zero use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, strengthen farming systems, and improve the resilience of Frontier Co-op’s sourcing communities around the world. This comes after Frontier Co-op attained third-party certification through the Regenerative Organic Alliance. You see, each of the five new ROC™ certified products are benchmarked against three core standards and are integral to Frontier Co-op’s wider approach to regenerative organic. These certifications include, for starters, USDA Organic Certification, which validates the work Frontier has done in the context of improving soil health in farming communities by providing guidelines to address pest and weed control, soil quality, and use of additives and substances.

Another benchmark which has complete compliance from Frontier’s brand-new products is Fairtrade Certified through Fairtrade America. In case you weren’t aware, the stated accreditation serves as a gold standard for social responsibility, returning a price premium directly to the smallholder herb and spice farming communities that form the backbone of Frontier Co-op’s supply chain. The final benchmark understood to be a part of the play here is Frontier Co-op’s Well Earth Impact Sourcing Program, which takes a people-first approach to regenerative organic agriculture. Keeping in line with that, as Frontier Co-op expands its Regenerative Organic Certified® offerings, the program will fund community- and business-building projects that will enable smallholder farmers to achieve long-term resilience and participation in the regenerative supply chain.
